Dear Sun Devil Alumni,
On April 18th, 2009 Arizona State University Alumni from three different cities across west coast will be hosting a tribute to Pat Tillman. Los Angeles, San Jose, and Tempe will be organizing a run as a way to honor a man that has inspired many of us. I signed up for the one in Los Angeles, and I hope to see you there. It's easy to register (instructions below). While I am running I will be saying a prayer for my Brother-in-Law, Lieutenant Commander Brian C. Emme, and my cousin, Private Anthony McQuillen, who are both serving in Afghanistan as I write.

On April 18th, thousands of runners, walkers, volunteers and spectators will participate in the 5th Annual Pat’s Run in Tempe. This 4.2 mile run/walk celebrates the life of former ASU football star and Army Ranger, Pat Tillman. Pat’s friends and family created Pat's Run as a way to celebrate Pat's legacy while raising awareness and funds for the Pat Tillman Foundation to make a difference in the lives of others and in our community. All proceeds from the race benefit the Pat Tillman Foundation and its Leadership through Action™ initiatives.
The Los Angeles Alumni Chapter is proud to introduce the inaugural Los Angles Pat’s Run Shadow Run on Saturday, April 18th at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Pat was a part of the amazing 1996 Sun Devil Football team that beat UCLA and went undefeated to go on and play in the 1997 Rose Bowl Game. Hosting our first Shadow Run at the Rose Bowl is a perfect setting to celebrate Pat’s life and Sun Devil Legacy and the Sun Devil Nation.
PAT’S RUN SHADOW RUN IN PASADENA

Location: Rose Bowl, Pasadena
Fee: $30 (includes t-shirt and picnic)
8am – Registration & t-shirt pick up
9am – Shadow Run/Walk begins
Picnic – immediately following run/walk
Registrants will receive a Pat’s Run T-shirt and post-race picnic. All levels of runners (and walkers) are welcome, including children. The Rose Bowl Loop is also handicap accessible. Everyone is welcome to join us after the Run/Walk for our Sun Devil picnic. NOTE: this is a fun-run/walk. We won’t be doing time chips.
To join our LOS ANGELES ALUMNI Chapter and be part of our Shadow Run team, follow the directions below. If you don’t register as a SHADOW RUNNER or part of the LA CHAPTER, we won’t know you’re joining us in Pasadena and we won’t have a t-shirt for you.

Step. 5. Choose “Shadow Runner” (last option) & agree to the waiver
Step. 6. Fill in all the information on the form and make sure to select a team from the drop down menu - "LA CHAPTER" after “PARTICIPATING AS PART OF A TEAM”
Step. 7. Complete registration
Your confirmation will say you’re running in Tempe. As long as you registered as a “Shadow Runner” and “LA CHAPTER” we’ll know you’re running in LA.
You will be contacted by the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter prior to the race with additional details about the Rose Bowl Shadow Run, including instructions for parking on site as well as a detailed race route map. All proceeds from the Los Angles Shadow Run Event go directly to the Pat Tillman Foundation.
